You've probably seen or received a piece of friendship jewelry in the past- they could differ from a woven bracelet to two parts of a split heart. Either way, they make a great gift and really allow you to show how important your friend, (or more than a friend), is to you!

The peanut butter and jelly necklaces are a unique twist on the classic friendship necklace, and are really fun and adorable to wear. They are surprisingly fast and simple to make, and I'm sure the person you give one of these to will appreciate it forever.

Let's get started!

Step 1: Ingredients

peanutbutter-and-jelly.gif
* Tan colored Fimo (or similar brand) clay
* Brown clay
* Light brown clay (for peanut butter)
* Purple or red clay (for jelly)
* Jump rings
* Some sort of string/wire if you wish to string the charms as a necklace

Step 2: Making the Bread

TO MAKE THE INSIDE OF THE BREAD:

First, take out a couple small balls of tan clay. Then, flatten them out to a thickness of about  2 1/2 millimetres (about 1/4 of a centimetre).

All you have to do now is take a small knife and cut the shape of your bread out. (bread shape differs, I find it is easiest to use the generic bread form, as shown in the fourth picture below.

TO MAKE THE CRUST:

Pinch off a bit of brown clay and roll it into a thin, snake-like tube.

Now, drape the tube around the sides of the bread base until it  completely surrounds it.

Step 4: Enjoy!

 All thats left to do is bake the pieces! Follow the directions on the package to make sure everything gets baked properly. After they are out of the oven, you can string the charms on a necklace or bracelet, or just give them as a plain charm.

I hope you and your friend, (or friend/love buddy) enjoy these charms.

Happy Valentine's Day!
