Spray painting pumpkins is pretty cheap and easy. Not only do they last longer than carved pumpkins but you can get some really cool results with paint that you can't do with carving.This year I decided to go all out and paint some pac-man pumpkins. The pumpkins I used for the ghosts were the perfect shape(they actually inspired this instuctable). The power pellets and cherries are just little pumpkins tied together. As for the boxes, I had some wood one lying around, but you could use cardboard or skip that part all together. All right - Let's get started.

Step 1: Materials

Pumpkins
Spray paint - I used flourecent paints for the yellow, red, and green.
Acrylic paint - White, red, and black.
Laquer - glossy looks great
Brushes
Tape
Felt
Gorilla glue

Step 2: ZEE Work

I would start by spray painting the biggest stuff first. You want to hover about 6-10 inches away from the medium as you paint so you get an even coat. Also keep in mind that if you hover around the same spot you will get drips. After they dried out(shouldn't take too long) I used a sharpie to make the eyes and mouths and stuff. I then filled in the details with the appropriate acrylic paint. Let dry some more and the finish them off with a coat of laquer. For the boxes you could really use whatever you want. I hot glued felt to the sides of the boxes , and taped the corners with that electric blue tape to give it that video game feel.
