The surfboard is most likely to get damaged on any hard edges. So the nose, tail, rails and fins need sufficient protection. Open up your insulation and wrap around the rails. Secure with duct tape. Pay extra special attention to the nose and tail. (Remember you can never use too much duct tape!)
