Pancake Frog

Fun to eat Frogs!  Basic pancake batter is colored green with food coloring and poured onto the hot griddle in the shape of the frog.  It may take a fair amount of food coloring to get the shade of green you desire.

Colored pancakes tend to turn brown as they cook, but the insides remain green.  To keep a more green look to them, slightly under cook (this frog was cooked a bit too much).

The eyes of the frog were done by placing two drops of batter on top of the cooked pancake and flipping them back over to cook just a bit to firm them up, but not cook enough to turn brown.  The pupils were created with by placing just a touch of green food coloring straight from the dropper bottle into the center of each eye.

Regular pancakes can serve as lily pads! Enjoy eating frog pancakes!
