Introduction: Paper Accordion Christmas Tree

Picture of Paper Accordion Christmas Tree

This is a cute Christmas decoration you can stand on your counter or table. I got the idea from here, and the template I used is modified from this.

You need:

Small dowels - I used Creatology's 3/16 x 11 7/8 inch ones

A flat base with a hole for the dowel - I used ArtMinds' 1.5 inch wooden wheels

Wood glue or superglue

Cricut or similar device - though you could cut it out by hand and hole-punch it

Scoring tool to make the paper easier to fold

Green cardstock

Stickers, sequins, etc. to decorate!

Step 1: Cut Out Tree

Download this tree image and open it in Cricut Design Space, or whatever program you use. Scale it to 8 inches wide. Position a piece of cardstock to be cut, and cut it out.

Step 2: Putting It Together

Squeeze a little bit of glue around the dowel and stick it into the base. Score lines across the tree and fold it. You can put decorations onto the tree at this time as well. Once everything is dry, slide the tree onto the dowel.
