Introduction: [DOES NOT REALLY WORK THAT WELL] Paper Tack Shooter (step by Step)

About: I like making stuff!

In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how to build a paper tube that shoots tacks out of it, and learn how to modify the tacks to make them fly well!

READ ALL THE FOOTNOTES!!!

Step 1: Materials for Shooter

You'll need about 3 sheets of paper, a large rubber band, a tack (optional), a small paper clip, TONS of tape, and  a pencil. (not really.)

Step 2: The Middle Tube Thingamabob

First, roll up the first piece of paper horizontally*, then tape with tape.

*It helps if you fold it to start.

Step 3: The Stuffing

Take the middle tube thingamabob, and select one end of it. tape a piece of tape, and crumple it up. Stuff it into the middle tube thingamabob. After that, take another piece of tape, and stick it on the end of the middle tube thingamabob, and then stick the ends onto the sides.

Step 4: Cutting the MTT, and Rolling the Large Tube Thingamabob

First, Cut about half an inch of of the MTT*. Then, using another piece of paper, roll it around the MTT until you come to the end. This creates the outer tube thingamabob. (OTT) Loosen the OTT a teeny- weeny bit just so the MTT can slide through the OTT with ease. Tape the OTT with tons of tape.

*THE NON TAPED SIDE!!!

Step 5: Reinforcing the OTT

First of all, take the MTT out of the OTT, then take another sheet of paper and tape it to the OTT as shown. Roll it up, and tape it.

Step 6: Hooking Up the Stretchy Part

This is the longest step. Luckily for you, I took pictures.
Take the paper clip, and bend as shown. Take the huge rubber band, and hook it into the paper clip. Shove the paper clip into the OPEN end of the MTT as shown, and then* take a tiny rubber band and cut it into a 1 inch strip, and wrap it around the edge the paperclip is in to secure the paperclip even more. tape all of this together as shown**. Take the non-taped part of the rubber band, and stretch it to the end of the OTT. Tape it a little farther off than the middle. (see picture) Then stretch the rubber band as far as you want*** of the OTT. Take the right-now-not-taped end of the rubber band again and wrap a piece of tape around it as shown****. Tape it to the tube***** and wrap tape around it a million times******. (not really)
You're done with is!*******

*This is optional, but it WILL break more often without this.
**Basically, wrap tape around and under everything.
***Don't do it too much, otherwise you'll break the rubber band!
****Face the stick side up.
*****Make sure to tape it near the end.
******DO NOT TAPE THE RUBBER BANDS DOWN WITH IT.
*******Sorry for all the footnotes.

Step 7: Tack Ammunition

This is how to modify the tacks so they will fit better in the shooter. First, take your piece of paper* and fold it to about the same height as the tack BASE. Cut about an inch off the folded paper, then wrap the non 1 inch around the tack BASE. Tape all of that together. Then for extra security, take a piece of tape and puncture it through the tack point and wrap the tape around the edges of the tack.
You have completed it!

*Sticky notes are good.

Step 8: Instructions and Stuff

OPTIONS:
You can use a tack to jam the shooter until you pull it out to fire. I WOULD NOT recommend this, because it damages the MTT when you stick it in, but it's till an option. (see picture)

HOW TO SHOOT:
Insert the tack, pull back, (make sure the tack is fully inside) and release to fire.
DO NOT fire at people, mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, fungi, etc.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
Tell me in the comments if you have any questions, concerns, problems, and all that stuff.
