Introduction: Paracord Blow Darts

About: I like to create things! Wood, 3D printing, crafting, anything really! As long as it looks cool or is fun!

This Instructable will show you how to make a blow dart out of Paracord and other materials you most likely have on hand.  Enjoy!  :D

Step 1: Materials and Tools

All that is needed for this project is:

- A piece of Paracord (only needs to be about 2-3 inches long)
- A paperclip
- Super glue (or alternative)
- A lighter
- A multitool (with a knife to cut the Paracord and pliers to help mold melted Paracord)

Step 2: Straitening the Paperclip

Straighten most of the paperclip out, but leave one bend left to make it easier to hold.  Try to get the paper clip as straight as possible. This will be the point and core of the dart.

Step 3: Prepare Paracord

Take a piece of Paracord, about 2-3 inches, and fluff one end up. Than take your lighter and carefully singe the base of the fluff. This might be easier if if done in reverse.  This discourages the Paracord from further fluffing.

Step 4: Put Paperclip in Paracord

Take your paperclip, and carefully slide it through the Paracord. Keep the inner strands of the Paracord within the Paracord casing. Take your lighter and singe the end of the Paracord. You can use your pliers to help shape the melted Paracord. Next, take the pliers and snip the end of the paperclip off. You may need to reposition the paperclip. Then take some super glue and place a drop of it on the Paracord and paperclip to secure them together. Let the glue set.

Step 5: Finished!

You have just made a Paracord dart. These darts are very cheap to make, so you don't have to worry about losing them.  You may file the tip into a point if you would like. Comparing these to store bought darts, they are very similar. They are just about as accurate, but do not go quite is far.  Enjoy!  :D
