Paracord Lighter Wrap

This Instructable will show you how, to wrap a lighter in paracord. Why do that? I did it because it gives me a better grip on the lighter, it looks cool and I can leave the string hanging out of my pocket so I don't have to dig around for my much used lighter.

Sorry about the low picture quality. This is something I did a while ago and took apart to make an Instructable, my first one. Enjoy!

Step 1: Supplies

All you need is a lighter, a couple feet of paracord, and something to cut the paracord with.

"It uses more cord but i think it looks cool." Isn't that the idea when using para-cord to wrap things? So you have as much cordage as possible in an emergency/survival situation.

On the lighter i used a monkeys fist instead of a braid. It uses more cord but i think it looks cool.

I tried this out on a lighter and i think i'll wrap a bunch of stuff like that. I'm gonna try wrapping my bow handle and seeing how that shoots.

I made a pretty stable wrap just with a torch(was afraid I was going to make the bic explode! lulz) instead of leaving a lanyard pull, I cut it and slid it on the other side. It also provides a better grip because the sides are nearly symmetrical. Note the clear pictures-lulz-i decided to actually use my tripod.

Oh, and when I tried to slide it in the other side, I used my nail file thing on my Vic SAK to pry it, and ended up dipping the cord in water to make it stretch (nylon expands when wet, shrinks when dry

Yeah I wrapped my tomahawk handle the same way it works great!

Also I super glued both my first and my final loop so that it's impossible for the cord to unwind. That way you have a stable lanyard. I have made mine with tiny monkey fist at the end of the lanyard and it's pretty cool. Thanks for the idea!

I'm a big fan of adding lengths of cord or string to stuff. My phone, keys and stuff like that all have brightly coloured tails. Mostly it's to make it easier to find vital items but many times I've used the cord for something when I'm out and about.

I get mine at Amazon.com . The seller Daybreak Enterprises sells the real stuff, and it's about a buck for ten feet. It comes in 50 and 100 foot rolls, pretty handy, and in the a few colors.
