Step 1: Open and print images

Picture of Open and print images
Open up the following images in my flickr link or go onto the web and find your own. The images I used for this project were taken from Library at Northwestern

Open up or layout your images in a photo preview program or Adobe Photoshop. Size, if needed where each individual image is about 1" wide.

Step 2: Laminate

Picture of Laminate
Cut out each individual image. Tear off laminate from backing and place picture onto sticky surface. Lay another piece of laminate on top. Press firmly over surface with finger to smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles.

Step 3: Cut

Picture of Cut
Cut out around each laminated image, making sure to leave 1/8" of laminate around image.

Step 4: Punch hole

Picture of Punch hole
Use pin or safety pin to poke a hole through top of image (not through laminate, or it will tear). Put small jump ring through hole to make a charm.

Step 5: Add beads and fasten.

String beads in desired fashion onto hoop. Use pliers to bend end of hoop to fit inside wire loop. Undo bended end from loop to secure onto wineglass.

Step 6: Display

Picture of Display
Showcase your charms with pride on the stems of your glasses! They will be instant conversation starters. Who doesn't like retro Americana ads? If you don't want to go the trouble of making wine glass charms, print the images out on label stock, cut them out, and slap them silly onto red and blue Silo cups!

LOVE this!! I am having an all "Girl's Night In" party and wanted to make my own wine glass charms based on my party theme - "Bad Kitty". This has given me an EXCELLENT way to accomplish this. Thanks so much!!!

Beautiful I'ble! Great idea and awesome post.

Today I posted an entry on my blog with a link to this tutorial.

Would you let me know if that's OK?

What is a "jump ring" ?
Mister C, this should help...basically, it is a piece of wire in a loop used in jewelry making. You can find them at any craft store in the jewelry section in various sizes, but for this project, you will need the small ones.
