Persepolis - 3D frame by mary candy
Featured
Persepolis is  an acclaimed graphic novels,  that tell the personal story of  Marjane Satrapi.
As a comic book, it illustrates a young girl in Iran during the Islamic Revolution.
The story follows a precocious and outspoken nine-year-old through young adulthood,
and illustrates the challenges faced by a modern young woman trying to forge
an identity while having to conform within a tyrannical society.

This novels in black-and-white have been a worldwide success with its abstract drawings.
Persepolis has dreamlike moments.

Marji, so called, loves Bruce Lee, and punk music.

Persepolis is also an animation movie!  If you have still not seen it , you have to see it now.

I choose one strip to make this 3D frame.
I used cold porcelain to make Marji.

Check it out , I hope you like it.

I don't think so, because if you know the story, you will fell
that her face shows how much she 's thinking about her life.
I'm Tim Burton's fan.
My next 3D frame is going to be a really creeeeeeepy guy :)
spylock says: Jul 5, 2011. 10:30 PM
Bring it,creeeepy can be good sometimes. So whats the basic story or will it be to long to explane?
mary candy (author) says: Jul 6, 2011. 7:31 PM
I din't take you comment wrong.
so the storyline is :
In 1970s Iran, Marjane 'Marji' Statrapi watches events through her young eyes and her idealistic family of a long dream being fulfilled of the hated Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. However as Marji grows up, she witnesses first hand how the new Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, has become a repressive tyranny on its own. With Marji dangerously refusing to remain silent at this injustice, her parents send her abroad to Vienna to study for a better life. However, this change proves an equally difficult trial with the young woman finding herself in a different culture loaded with abrasive characters and profound disappointments that deeply trouble her. Even when she returns home, Marji finds that both she and homeland have changed too much and the young woman and her loving family must decide where she truly belongs.

Hi, it was my first time I did work with cold porcelain.
It's not so easy for modeling. I like the result :D

ireiss says: Jul 4, 2011. 7:48 PM
Actually what you made isn't porcelain cold or otherwise but it is still beautifully done...porcelain is made from a mix of animal bone and a few other things...todays chine is made from a clay that is...well clay...but a name doesn't matter... its the idea which counts, its brilliant!

good luck!
mary candy (author) says: Jul 6, 2011. 5:28 AM
