Introduction: Personalized Pencils

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

These No.2 pencils are getting a colorful and whimsical update to match your back-to-school (and year round) style!

Step 1: Materials

To make these colorful pencils, you will need...

  • plain No.2 pencils
  • photo mount spray
  • tape
  • loose glitter in a variety of colors
  • paper plate
  • washi and / or Duct tape
  • scissors

Step 2: Prep Pencils

To make the glitter pencils, place two pieces of tape above and below the metal part of your pencil.

Step 3: Add Glitter

Next, pour one color of glitter onto a paper plate, and set aside. Now, lightly spray photo mount spray onto the metal part, then roll into the glitter. Let dry for about 5 minutes, then remove the tape!

Step 4: Tape Pencils

To make these tape pencils, cut a piece of washi tape or duct tape as long as the yellow part of the pencil. Then, place it sticky side up, long ways on your work surface, put the pencil down on top of it, and wrap it until completely covered!

You can also make cool patterns, by adding horizontal stripes of different colored tape!

Step 5: Write On!

Now, just sharpen them up and you're ready to write with amazing color and flair!
