Introduction: Photoplethysmography

Build a heart beat monitor using Arduino and Processing.

Components:

1x IR LED

1x Photodiode/Phototransistor

1x Trimpot

1x 22uF cap

1x 10uF cap

1x 4.7uF cap

1x 220nF cap

1x LM324

2x 100k resistor

2x 2.2k resistor

1x 1.8k resistor

1x 1.8M resistor

1x 100w resistor

1x 47w resistor

Arduino 5v to VCC.

Arduino GND to GND.

Arduino A0 to Out.

One thin that is especially good is that you make no electrical connection to you victim that is patient. So many experiments like this miss that point. If you do make a connection power with a battery. Voting for this.

I am using a software called Processing, which is a very friendly java based programming language, the code to do this is in step 3. It is commented for better comprehension.
