This simple piezo electricity experiment is performed to measure the piezoelectricity effect. Material used in this experiments are:

- 20 mm 4-6 Khz, Piezo Elements Sounder Sensor (2.68 GBP ebay.co.uk)
- Rectifier Diodes 1N5400 3A (2.40 GBP maplin.co.uk)
- Green Mylar Capacitors 100nf 100v (pack of 5, 1.99 GBP ebay.co.uk)
- Breadboard 102 + Jumper (3.59 GBP ebay.co.uk)
- 1.2v LED Red (maplin.co.uk)
- Multitester (maplin.co.uk)

Electricity that generated from Piezo is AC, therefore we need to convert it into DC.

Step 1: Prepare Material (breadboard, Jumper, Diode, Capacitor)

In my experience, the first thing to do is prepare and check the material. It is easy to check the connection using LED. Using breadboard and jumper is very useful, but somehow I also found some broken/disconnect jumper. So better check all the material first before making 'complex' circuit. As piezo electricity is using vibration/pressure, it also tend to make the some connection broken.

Step 2: Voltage Electricity Measurement

Measurement using Multimeter. Result is very low voltage 1-2V (DC), its because I am using 20mm Piezo, if it's bigger it should be generate more.

For current measurement (ampere), I am not sure, maybe I am still making mistake. Multimeter show aroud 10microA, which I expect around 10miliA. But let see. I need additional resistor to measure the current.

These just simply generate electricity on their own? like magic? something is missing here...
