Ping Pong Ball Goldfish

This is a great inexpensive kids craft for Chinese New Year!  The Chinese consider goldfish to be a symbol of wealth and abundance.  Make yours today out of orange paper, a ping pong ball, a twist tie, googly eyes and a sharpie.

orange paper - orange napkin or piece of plastic tablecloth, or even a piece of orange tissue paper
ping pong ball - you can use something else similar in size and lightweight
twist tie - or string
sharpie or marker
moving googly eyes (optional)

Step 1: Step 1

Cut a piece of orange  paper out of an orange colored napkin or tissue paper or even orange plastic tablecloth.  The square should be at least 7" x 7".  Place a ping pong ball or similar sized object in the middle.  You could even crumple some scrap or tissue paper to the size of a ping pong ball and place it in the center of the orange paper

Step 2: Step 2

Wrap the orange paper around the ball and grab it in a small bunch.  Secure the orange sheet around the ping pong ball with a twist tie.

Step 3: Step 3

Glue on some googly eyes or draw them on with a marker.

Step 4: Step 4

Draw fins, scales and a cute mouth.  Ta da! Done!
