Step 9Attach sleeves

Attach sleeves
This part is tricky.  Please examine all photos and description carefully.

The sleeves need to be attached in a specific position in order to have a clean, neat finish.  For each sleeve, I began by pinning the back of the sleeve (good sides together) to the sleeve area on the back section of the jersey, about 3/8" from the edge (examine photo 2 carefully).

This extra 3/8" is important, as you will see in step 10.

I pinned each sleeve in place, working my way forward pinning as I went.  When the full arc of each sleeve is pinned in place completely, there should be about 2 inches left exposed of the front piece of the main body of the jersey (examine photo 3).

I sewed the sleeves in place, zig-zagged the rough edges, and top-stitched the seam down, including the edge of the single layer fabric left 3/8" and 2" on either side of the sleeve.
