This is an easy and delicious dish that can be a snack or a meal.
Step 1: Step 1-Ingredients
You can either make your own dough or buy some. If you want to make your own, and it tastes much better, here's what you'll need:
-3 cup flour
-2 tsp. yeast
-1 cup warm water (the yeast needs to be in warm water for it to activate)
-1/4 cup oil
-1/2 tsp. salt
-Shredded chedder cheese
-Deep Frier (If you don't have one, you can use a large pot filled with oil on the stove, just make sure you have a lid)
Step 2: Step 2- Making the Dough
After you have everything you need, you'll start making the dough. In the large mixing bowl pour the 1 cup of warm water, and then add the 2 tsp. of yeast. Let the yeast dissolve into the water, DO NOT MIX. This should only take about a minute or two.
Step 3: Step 3- Making the Dough Cont.
When the yeast has dissolved, add the 1 tsp. of sugar, 1/2 tsp. of salt, and the 1/4 cup of oil and mix.
Step 4: Step 4- Making the Dough Cont.
Now you're going tograduallymix in the 3 cups of flour to your mixture. Mix in about half the flour, then slowly add the rest while mixing. If you need to you can add a little more water and oil to help. When the flour is mixed in, knead the dough for 5 minutes. When done, set the dough aside to rise for roughly 20 minutes.
If you own a deep frier, now would be a good time to heat it up. If you don't own a deep frier you can use a large pot filled with oil on the stove to deep fry in, just make sure you have a lid in case of splashes.
Step 5: Step 5- Filling the Dumplings
Once the dough has risen (see picture), you can start making the dumplings. Spread flour on the countertop so the dough won't stick when you roll it out.
Take a small handful of dough and roll it into a flat circle. Then put a tablespoon or spoonful of tomato sauce in the middle of the circle. Put a spoonful of cheese on top of the tomato sauce. Close the dough by folding it over and pressing on the edges so they stick together and form a dumpling shape.
Step 6: Step 6- Deep Frying the Dumplings
Once you've finished filling the dumplings, you're ready to fry them. Place them in the deep frier until they're golden brown. Let them cool and they're ready to eat, enjoy!
