The Plastic Pop Art Poster is a piece of abstract art that incorporates geometric shapes.

Step 1: Supplies

To make the Plastic Pop Art Poster you will need 144 plastic 20 oz bottles, 144 screws, three different colors of spray paint, and a 3 foot by 3 foot piece of plastic.

Step 2: Step 1

Start the project by peeling the labels off of every bottle.

Step 3: Step 2

After peeling off the labels, you will need to cut the tops off of the bottles with a saw. You should put something, like a piece of wood, at the end of table so the bottom of your bottles are secure, and you cut every bottle at the same spot.

Step 4: Step 3

After cutting the tops off of the bottles you will need to wash the bottles out with soap and water, rinse them, and then let them dry.

Step 5: Step 4

The next process is to screw the bottles onto the plastic board. You will need a partner to do this step. The bottles will form a square that is 12 bottles by 12 bottles. One person will need to hold the bottle onto the board while the other person screws the bottle onto the board from the back. Repeat this for all 144 bottles. Remember you are making 12 rows with 12 bottle in each!

Step 6: Step 5

Your next step is to paint. The object is to paint the bottles so as you look at the whole board you see squares of color. It is easiest to start with all of the outside bottles. Every outside bottle will need it's inside spray painted white. Working in, the next square of bottles will have their inside painted black. The next square of bottles will have their insides painted silver. The next square will be white, the following square will be black. Then you will have 4 bottles left on the inside. The insides of those 4 bottles should be spray painted silver.
