Insert the plug into the hole on top of the bottle. Then pull the plug through the hole in the back. Use your good friend Mr. Putty to stick the cord to the side of the bottle, to hold the top in place temporarily while you are adjusting it. Or forever if you are glue-phobic like me. If your cord is too long you can wrap it with a bit of wire off an old light transformer like I did. Or yours can be out of an old switchboard. Whichever works. But don't come crying to me when you realize transformer wire is so much better.

Next, mount the socket on top. Superglue does not work for this, and I am notoriously impatient, so I just used putty. It's a little less strong, but no big deal to me. You probably should use something like Amazing Goop TM.

Then put the lamp shade on and plug in! Enjoy your green (in oh-so-many ways) lamp. Use flourescent bulbs to make it extra green.
