Step 3Installing the bootloader

Installing the bootloader
Now you need the iPod to be capable of booting the Rockbox firmware you just installed.

- Make sure your iPod is connected.

- Download the ipodpatcher and run it.

- It will show some information about your iPod, as you can see from the image below. just type "i" and press enter, and the bootloader will be installed.

- Wait for it to finish (it only takes a minute). When the message "INFO Bootloader installed successfully" appears just press enter again to exit the ipodpatcher.

I like the way you've explained all the steps. Very educative. But for all those who have problems getting the wad files or loading rockbox things are made easier (copy & paste-practically) at the following site. Just download the file, unzip and read the simple instructions:

It seems there is a problem with the link to the ipodpatcher. The page does not open, or even give a "the page cannot be displayed" message. Perhaps I misread the instructions somehow? Please help. Thx- MODX
