Introduction: Play WoW With a Wiimote

In this Instructable, you will quickly and easily learn how to play World of Warcraft with a Wiimote. It's not a complete replacement for the mouse & keyboard quite yet, but it makes the general grind way easier and more fun!

I should also let you know that I've only done this on my MacBook Pro. This should work just fine on a Windows box using WiinRemote:
http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=19&src=wiinremote

The specific steps for Darwiinremote will be different, but the payoff should be just the same.

Step 1: Making Sure You Have What It Takes

For this to work properly, you will need the following:

1) World of Warcraft (just covering my bases here)
2) A Wiimotethe Classic Controller helps as well, as that's what I'll be using here
3) A computer with bluetooth capabilities
4) Darwiinremote (http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwiin-remote/)

Step 2: Set Up Darwiinremote

Go ahead and run Darwiinremote and open the preferences.

Add a new Key Configuration and call it something relevant; I called mine WoW Mote.

Set whatever keys to the buttons on the controller that you want.
What I set:
"D-Pad: Up, down, left, and right respectively
"The L&R buttons up top: I set them to various ctrl, alt, and shift to allow for MANY more key combinations
"b: This is my jump button

Step 3: Set Up WoW's Keybindings

Once you have your keys set, head on into WoW, press Esc, and select "Key Bindings"

Here you will be welcomed by SO MANY options to set keys to. Go ahead and click on the various command/keys and press the buttons on your Wiimote to associate them.

Here's the ones I cared about:

"D-Pad: movement
"L+D-Pad: strafe

"y, x, a: Action button 1, 2, 3
"L + y, x, b, a: Action button 4, 5, 6, 7
"L+R + y, x: Action Button 8, 9

"[+]: Target Nearest Enemy
"[-]: Target Nearest Friend
"L+[+]: Previous Enemy
"L+[-]: Previous Friend
"[Home]: Target Self

"R+up, down, left, right: Action Page 1, 2, 3, 4
"ZR+left, right: Action Page 5, 6

"R+b: Interact with Mouseover

"L+up, down: Zoom in/out

Step 4: Final Thoughts

The Keybindings in the previous step are by no means the only combination you should do. Heck, I've only been playing this game for a couple weeks and I really know as much about playing Wow without a mouse as a quick Google search can teach me.

This is also not a complete replacement for mouse & keyboard (oh boy do I wish). If you want to do anything in your bags, you'll have to use your mouseunless, of course, you write a macro to do what you want, but that's a whole other Instructable to be written.

Final words of advice:
" Position your mouse over your character's neck; that way all you have to do is run up to a body or sign or such and press L+b (or whatever you bound to Interact with Mouseover)

If you have any constructive input, I'd LOVE to hear it!

Good luck out there!
