Playing and downloading Flash Games the easy way.

     Now I know this is usually the part where you say it's your first Instructable, rate it, feed-back, etc... But I'm going to skip all that because it bores me. This Instructable will teach you how to download and play SWF's without Macromedia or a special player. So if you have an older computer and want to do cool things with it, (like me) than most of my Instructables are/will be for you!

Step 1 Needed equipment

What you will need are as follow: Windows 98 and up (cause if you have anything lower, chances are the video card, sound or whatever won't be updated enough; But you can use a lower operating system), Basic computer manuvering skills (Know what SWF's are and how to copy/paste), Internet Explorer, and a reliable Internet connection.

I will do that, in fact I will put another step in this and post some links to MegaUpload, MediaFire, or Rapid Share (or a direct download); where I will put some games. I will do that as soon as posible, so keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the tip!

Yes it will, but it will only play what your macromedia plug-in is updated to. (like: 8.0, 6.0, 5.0,etc...) Because all SWF files are made with a version of "Macromedia Flash Maker" and what ever version the maker or the SWF chooses to let it play on will vary. So it's good to update your plug-ins every once in a while. But games will play the same online or offline, but some games have like a score board, download full version, or something like that so it will need a connection. If you don't have a connection, it will make a page that says something like "connection could not be established" or a blank page. (Something like that) But you should only get an error message if you don't have a connection established. (or if you have an over zellos parental block) But the point of my long and informative answer is that, yes it will work offline.

A plug-in is the term given to a piece of software required for another piece of software (such as a game) to run on your computer. Macromedia used to distribute Flash plug-ins, but after they were taken over by Adobe, Adobe rebranded Macromedia Flash as Adobe Flash. Hope this helps.

Yeah, but sometimes that doesn't take unless you you work your system associate files to do it... and that gives me and idea. I think I will make another Instructable for it... or I can just add it to this one. (but maybe I have put enough onto this) well anyway I can tell you how to make Internet Explorer the default for SWF files if you haven't already.
