I have always wanted a dueling set. They have been an item that has been gifted through out the last two centuries to leaders and generals.

I started with the idea of a dueling set after seeing this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsE_wBnOZ3s&feature=related

You will need the following.

Supplies;
A small block of wood.
2mm brass tubing
Stain for the handles
Glue
Solder
Match box and matches
Foam air filter thick enough to use in the case
Cap gun caps(only if you want to shoot it)

Tools;
Scroll Saw
File
Carving Knives
Soldering Iron
Paint Brush or Q-tips
Scissors

Step 1: Make the Gun Barrel

Cut a piece of 2mm ridged copper tubing the length of what you are looking for in a Barrel for the gun.

File off the cut end of the tube to make it smooth.  Then solder one side of the tube closed.  Make sure that the end is sealed completely.

Once the solder is cooled, use a wire to see how far the solder has entered the tubing.  This allows you to figure out where to cut the slot for the fuse.  You want to be as close as possible to the sealed section of the barrel but not where its sealed.  Then file a slot into the barrel for a fuse.  Don't cut too deep, all you want is room for a fuse to slide in.

Im pretty sure this is the coolest instructable I have seen in a long time. Would you maybe want to sell some of these?

here is the gun I used. These are very cheap, and simple, and much easier to shoot. Also, you can shoot these at people.

I like yours a lot though! nice build!

These were for a gift, they are not intended to be shot at people or really expected to be shot again after proving that they do. I at least hope nobody shoots a gun like this at anyone as it could hurt someone and even in theory kill them if the bullet somehow gets into their blood.

I should have been more clear when i posted. I totally understand why yours cannot be fired at people! Deadly! I was talking about my guns, which are entirely safe to be shot at someone, as long as eye protection is worn.

Your guns are essentially canons, using muzzle-loaded charges. My guns use only the expanding gas from one cap gun cap exploding to propel an Airsoft bb.
