Pocket-Sized Altoids Tin First-Aid Kit

After several incidents, I have found something that I think would be helpful for everybody even if they don't use it. Here is the First-Aid Kit.

As a trained professional, I'd like to let you know that as much as a tourniquet is crucial in saving lives, and how under-used it is, to be effective and relatively safe, it has to be at least 1.5 inches wide. If you browse the internet for one kind, known as the CAT tourniquet, you'll see that it's well over an inch wide. It has other things such as a velcro snap to hold the windlass (stick you use to tighten it) in place, with a place to write the time etc. I'm sure you don't need/want these, not only because of their size, but also because of their cost (~ $50 USD ea.). If you want to make your own, I'd advise you to go to your local sporting goods store, like an REI or Dicks, and get a 1.5 foot segment of strong climbing webbing. I recommend a neon color. Also, ask for 'tubular' webbing, the kind used for climbing, as it is extremely strong, so you can use it for other applications. Get some kind of a metal D ring or something to use as a buckle to apply pressure, and something to use as a stick to tighten it like a Windlass, again from home depot. make sure it's very strong. At best, just get a thicker belt segment and tighten that. Remember, a tourniquet is designed to stop blood-flow, so if you're using it on yourself, you have to tighten it so hard that it's going to hurt like $!%!%!^## so you want to be able to tighten it very quickly and keep it tight.

I made this after me and my girlfriend were longboarding and she crashed and I didn't have anything to fix up the scrapes on her hand and knees, that was my motivation to make this, I figured it would be useful to other skaters. Seeing as it fits in your pocket, you hardly know its there, I don't.

Cool kit. See if you can fit a small bottle of superglue/crazyglue ! It works like a charm to "stich" close deep cuts that would normally need stitches. It burns a little but is much less painfull that trying to give yourself stitches.

I would had as well but i wanted to do it with ceramic paint (for some odd reason) but didn't get around to doing it. but glad that someone likes it :) thank you.
