perfect for my wallet.

ilpug (author)2012-02-01

I shove a wire through the roll in between the cardboard roll and the lowest layer of tape, then make a ring out of that, and put a carabiner on it. Belt-carryable!

Skipper333333 (author)2011-04-20

Good thinking! Simple yet practical.

popcorn4lunch (author)2011-03-07

wow that Disney card looks old!

beehard44 (author)2010-12-21

or make a case for it

whiskymonster (author)beehard442011-01-25

a duct tape duct tape case?
that would be ace!

zipzapper859 (author)2010-10-23

somebody has probably already said this but you could put variation #2 in your duct tape wallet for when you need to fix it or just have extra duct tape

regipalka (author)2008-12-16

U could just keep the pen as is and then have it able to still write

ERCCRE123 (author)regipalka2008-12-23

good idea or u can trim the ink cartridge too and insert it in

999592 (author)ERCCRE1232009-01-03

can someone say "Ink everywhere?"

ERCCRE123 (author)9995922009-01-03

but the cut end is inside the pen and its practivally water tight

999592 (author)ERCCRE1232009-01-09

just sayin that when you cut it open its gonna go everywhere, plus when you put it in the pen its still gonna be leaking out of the cartridge. So you wouldn't be writing with it very much

ERCCRE123 (author)9995922009-01-09

but iv cut pen cartridges b4 they dont leak

999592 (author)ERCCRE1232009-01-12

no...... Have you tried it?

ERCCRE123 (author)9995922009-02-05

yes i have, no ink coming out

999592 (author)ERCCRE1232009-02-06

my experience they do.

kashmir84 (author)9995922009-02-06

is this really a problem?

Tommyhzy (author)kashmir842009-02-14

disturbedreaper (author)Tommyhzy2009-02-18

minerug (author)disturbedreaper2009-06-19

....lol...

Musicman41 (author)minerug2009-12-14

Apple_4_life (author)9995922010-04-17

actually dude, your completely wrong, have you ever have a soda with a straw then put ur finger over one end, then took the straw out and saw the soda was still in there? that exactly what happens with a pen.

999592 (author)Apple_4_life2010-06-03

have you tried moving quickly with said straw? obviously not because you would see that if you do, the soda would come out of the straw. so unless the only movements you are going to be making with the pen are very small and very slow, like you would be making with the straw and soda, yes ink WILL be everywhere.

Apple_4_life (author)9995922010-06-03

dude, just because its happened to you (probably cuz god hates u) it doesnt mean it's happened for everyone! ur acting so arrogant and ignorant

Why

Kaiven (author)regipalka2008-12-17

Good idea!

cal27 (author)2010-02-09

I've found that version #2 will fit in a wallet better if you cut a bit off each end (or a notch) so the tape doesn't make it longer than a normal credit card.

oniume (author)2010-02-08

var #2 works awesome, came in handy

codongolev (author)2009-07-10

I like the method where you put it in hot water, remove the cardboard, and put it in a vice overnight. that way, the entire roll is just compressed into a flat stick thing.

Tommyhzy (author)2009-06-29

There used to be a comment pyramid (Replies stacked on each other) that stretched about 5 whole pages, and it LITERALLY EXPLODED THE WHITE SPACE and went to the side.... But that was back in April/May/June... *Sigh* Good times.

Anyways, your Instructable is very innovative!

Human Being (author)2009-06-22

why don't you add a little razor blade to the end so you can rip it off easier?

jehan60188 (author)2009-04-02

neat! but why bother mutilating the pen? leave it intact, and you've got a multitasker- pen + duct tape holder!

Unventor (author)2009-01-02

If you like duct tape, you owe it to yourself to buy a roll of gaffer's tape, commonly called gaff tape. True there are a couple of things duct tape does better, but give gaff a chance. The entertainment business abandoned duct tape ages ago for good reason, adhesive everywhere, even in our raccoon wounds. www.rosebrand.com

I have tape like this, but it is fabric type thing in the middle and duct tape on the outside, it was great. then I used it all, and a roll is like $13 bucks on ebay.

999592 (author)Unventor2009-01-03

omg i love gaffing tape. One of the reasons is that instead of a shining reflective surface, you have a cloth surface which to me is also a lot stronger. Also i am in the media business and we use it all the time to keep our cables on the ground and out of the way. When you pull it up no mess and it has more stickiness to it. I even used it to fix up my camera stool with a foot rest. So yea i like gaffing tape...

DRADIS (author)2009-01-07

I always need duct tape when there's none handy! Thanks to you I will never be without
