Introduction: Polymer Clay House

About: I've been making polymer clay creations since I was about 5 years old. I've been improving over the years and I want to share my techniques of making clay creations with you guys!

The house i am making is about 3" by 3". I added extra features that are not in the instructions. You should do this on top of a piece of aluminum foil, it will be easier to lift it when you have to put it in the oven Things you will need Polymer clay. Whatever colors you want to make you house. Tool to roll out clay (small PVC pipe, marker, etc. Small knife or tool to cut with I use the victorinox knife

Step 1: The Floor

You start of by rolling a piece of clay (whatever color you like) flat. Cut out the shape that you want your house to be. You should draw a design on the floor to make it more interesting. I drew squares to make it look like tiles.

Step 2: The Walls

Roll out enough clay to make all the walls you want. Make sure they are evenly rolled out.(So theres no bumps on the rolled out clay). You might want to measure the height to make sure all the walls are even. If you want you can cut out windows on the walls.

Step 3: Furniture

Make all the furniture you want. You can make a couch by rolling out a small piece of clay. Making a cube and putting the rolled piece of clay around it. You can also make doors by rolling out a thin piece of clay and cutting a small rectangle.

Step 4: Putting It Together

You should start by putting the furniture in first. It will be hard to place it when the walls are attached. After placing the furniture, start by placing a wall where you want it. Smooth out the seem between the wall and the floor. When you put on the next walls, smooth out the seem between the walls also.

Step 5: The Roof

Measure the distance between the walls. Or you could start by molding a piece of foil (nothing will happen to the foil in the oven) into the shape of a roof, then put clay around it to make it lighter and stronger.

Step 6: Baking

Bake you house at 270 degrees Fahrenheit (or whatever it says on the clay wrapper) for about 15 minutes in the oven.
