Pook - the 100% Recyclable Tissue or Hand Towel Made From Paper

Paper, Everywhere you go in the world you would encounter this piece of material which can be made into many things and also used in our own learning. But not all of us are aware of how much this material costs to the environment. thousands and even millions of trees are cut down to produce this material. So when entering epilog contest i was wondering which project to undertake and with me i had a pencil and a blank paper. I was tired of looking at the paper and bam...there it was, i thought to my self " what if i made something cool with the paper and at the same time recycle it with zero cost."

Then there came this new generation of tissue paper or hand towel which changed the view of people in Fiji towards the ordinary waste paper. Me and a couple of friends gathered some waste paper and followed the production process which is really really simple and manufactured the batch of POOK the 100% recyclable Tissue or hand towel which saves the planet and also makes the most out of the paper. That means it can be also degraded into simple soil. in this Instructable i will show you how you can make your own POOK hand towel or tissue paper and help in the recycling of this material and make the most of what nature has given us.

Remember this is a Original product of POOK tissue papers and is sold over in Fiji islands. Please this is for educational purpose only and do not try to sell this again. The current product is sold in Fiji for really cheap and comes in boxes of 150 per box and cost $0.50 per box.

Step 1: How to Make POOK

As highlighted in the previous intro, The POOK is easy to make and really a 100% green product which can be used everywhere in each developing country.

MATERIAL:

- As Many waste papers as you can find

That's all we need to make your very own POOK and its the most amazing product we have ever made.

Step 2: Method

Step 1 :

Get the piece of paper and scrap it into a round ball as hard as possible , but at the same time keep aware that it dose not get torn.

Step 2

Now open the scrap ball of paper and turn to the other side and scrap or press in to a ball again. Do this again and again about 10 times or until the paper becomes rough and really soft. But in our case the paper was printed using a old inkjet printer with our product logo and name and then done into a ball.

Step 3

When you know its soft enough and rough like a tissue paper then lay it straight and fold it into four. This should look like that in the photo below.

Step 4

Now that you have your tissue paper you can try it out wiping your mouth when you go drink . It should work like a real tissue paper. Also if it does not feel like it then continue step 2.

Congratulation you finished your POOK and ready to be used.

Step 3: The Use and Disposal

As you may have already knew that this POOK is recycled paper and is bio -degradable this can be used anywhere and at anytime and be disposed like any other tissue or hand towel. Thus it is just a greener and more 100% environment friendly way and a better substitute of tissue paper ad hand towel. Also from our calculation and sales status it is the best solution for tissue paper at Fiji now.
Its a new product and thus still growing really fast.

As you can use it a normal tissue paper or hand towel and also make your own in case of emergency when there is no tissue paper around.

Warning :

Do not attempt to use this as a Toilet paper in anyways cause it is not meant for that standard and may clog or harm your toilet system. This has been tested and the results shown as negative.
