A rainy morning can be very useful, provided that I coudln't go with the bike I decided to build a mount for my GPS ina safe and cheap way. I had seen some home-made mounts but they were too heavy, metal parts, ..., and why not with a plastic bottle?

Step 1Looking for ingredients

Looking for ingredients
I neded some rigid but not to heavy surface. Some minutes later I came with the ingredients

  • 1 Aquarius or Nestea 1L Bottle, the sides are quite rigid and thin.
  • 1 Cutter
  • 1 Scissors
  • 1 Permanent Marker
  • 1 Elastic strip (from an old jacket), mine has a locker to adjust it better
  • 1 Piece of foam (mine is from isolation foam from the heating system pipes)
  • 2 zip ties (got mine from packaging stuff, not in the photo)

Hey, I scored a Garmin Geko like this one for fifty bucks on Ebay...used, but I'm not sure how much cheaper you can get. Nice mod, I might try it.
