Popsicle Stick Crossbow

Ok here's my made up version of a crossbow. It's kinda like a bic pen crossbow on a larger scale. I used gorilla glue on all the joints of the body, but hot glue would probably work.

Step 1: Materials

Here's what you need:
^{7 Popsicle sticks
Pen tube (pen minus the writing part and end cap)
Chip clip or some other strong clip (not a clothes pin)
Gorilla glue or hot glue
Bamboo skewers for ammo}

not a crossbow, uses a rubberband for all power. check out mine:

Actually a weapon consisting of a bow fixed crosswise on a wooden stock, with grooves on the stock to direct the projectile is a crossbow.

My pocket crossbows fire harder than that thing.. And there's no rubber bands, and the firing mechanism is more solid.

Well, it's kinda like a crossbow in that it uses a trigger-fire system. So technically, it's a trigger-operated crossbow-shaped slingshot.

yours is a whole lot better than mine. HAHA. but something that you can do is cut a little notch at the bottom slitting the wood in two connected pecies and making the rubber band fit between the split and it improves strength by so much. Excuse me for my spelling. think of it like floss going in between your teeth, the floss your rubber band and the split between your two front teeth your bow and thats how you want your bow to be cut so the rubber band can go inbetween your wood split for maximum fire power.

Would a mauly work for the clip?

if you are an airsofter, and have more bb's in your house than you do bamboo skewers, then you could use the back part of a mechanical pencil (the long stick w/ the eraser at the end) as a ramrod, and then use that to fire bbs, just make sure that the pen is big enuff for bbs, and the rod doesnt fall out the back

Yeah ahhh... I just inadvertently shot myself with an 8 inch bamboo skewer in the hand when I was loading this. WARNING! It went into my hand about and 1 and a half inches. It bled like stink. lol. So just as a warning, be careful when you are loading,unloading, and shooting this cross bow.

I have just finished making your cross bow. I have a quick question. Do 8 inch or 12 inch skewers work better?

it doesn't matter as long as they are as long as the whole thing....you need to be able to grab it with the clip and have the point sticking out of the pen tube

hmm it depends on how strong they are, but it could work if you used a weak rubberband, but then it would lose power.

Simple, works.... but i wouldn't call it a crossbow, because all of the power is coming from the elastic, but overall pretty good. Come take a look at my crossbow :)

yeah mine gets all the power from the rubber band, but it has over twice the range of yours if yours only shoots 9 meters.

NICE WORK this is awesome but i didnt have any scewers so i used a chop stick wiht a sowing needle on the tip of it
and it shot through hellsa stuff like soda cans (one that was full and cardboard and stuck in a ceiling in my house
