This will teach you how to make a Popsicle stick "trap" . It is a simple toy that you can put together and when you a person steps on the trap it will pop apart and many toothpicks will fly everywhere. You can also throw then as makeshift shurikens and it makes a great toy or part to a ninja costume or ninja game.

Step 1: Materials

You need 5 Popsicle Sticks to make this.

Step 2: Setting Up the Base

Take 3 popsicle sticks an layer them as shown.
The middle stick, must go on the bottom.
The bottom stick in the image, goes on top of the first stick at a 45 degree angle.
The top stick goes on top of the other 2 sticks at a 45 degree angle.

Step 3: Adding the First Tension

Take the next stick and add it under the middle stick and on top of the two outer sticks.

Note* if you do this the other way around it will not work and just fall apart

Step 4: Adding the Second Tension

Take the last stick and add it over the middle stick and Under the two outer sticks.

Note* if you do this the other way around it will not work and just fall apart

Step 5: Priming the Trap

Now on the end where the first 3 sticks meet separate the two top sticks just so that they sit on the edge of the popsicle stick in the bottom.

If the device is not going off separate them more.

If it goes off too early or when you place it on the ground move them in closer.

Step 6: Warnings

And now set it on the ground and wait for you victim, and watch them jump when it goes off.

Warning. Do not throw them at people this may cause injury to the eyes
