Thanks for this idea. I bet you can fill those holes where the popsicle sticks meet with wood epoxy or something similar. chawlk, etc. if you didn't want the pattern.

I may just have to try this some day.

If you trimmed off the rounded ends you'd have nothing to fill. You'd need to use a few more Popsicle sticks though.

Great work, almost luthier like :) Looks great, it even reminds me of my wooden floor inlay and colour, nice. Very boutique. One question though, what song did you use on your youtube video? I really like the wah-wah intro and the hammond solo. :) PS Do you know David Gogo ? Try to find his Blues Medley, its great ( and 9 minutes long.)

highjacked: Most popsicle sticks are made of either white birch or basswood, both utilized in guitars...the only thing is that no matter what method he had used, it is, as he said, made of popsicle sticks, which aren't absolutely uniform, and cannot be glued tight enough to resonate particularly well.

I love this project, one of the best I've seen on here in a good long time. We need some more instrument ones.

Agree with comments on the soundtrack! Awesome. The video reminds me of a clip from Sesame Street that takes a "field trip" through a saxophone (or was it trumpet) factory and they're playing awesome notes as sound effects as the sax makes it down the assembly line. Beautiful workmanship, beautiful finish - also curious about the sound, integrity after tightening strings, etc.
