Step 6Adding the switch

Adding the switch
Add a switch to this circuit is very simple, it'll save a lot of battery when you turn it off than just leaving it on idle. You can attach the switch anywhere BEFORE the capacitor (if you did not use a capacitor, then before the 7805).

In your PCB, the middle pin of 7805 is the OUTPUT. That is WRONG. The correct one is that the middle is GROUND. You have a correct schematic diagram but WRONG PCB.

just checking on the regulator which i'm guessing the one on +V is 'in', 0V is 'out' and the middle is 'reference' pins? Also, how do you attach to the USB, solder? ty

With the regulator correctly wired, I do get a voltage output of 5v, but my iPad won't charge. I've tried to bridge the data lines with a 15kohm resistor and even without a resistor. Please help me out on this one!

on the 7805 pcb pin out youi have the output and ground incorrect pin 2 needs to go to ground and pin 3 is the output.
