Cozy pajama jumpsuit perfect for testing in! Modelled after Chell's Portal 1 jumpsuit.

You Need:
orange and white fleecel fabric (used about 1^1/2yards of orange for myself, but I am short!)
orange and white thread
orange zipper (length depends on how long your torso is)
small rectangular scrap of cotton and iron on transfers (or an Aperture patch)
poster board or cardstock
references of Chell's Portal jumpsuit (I googled Portal jumpsuit and Chell to get some)
white bias tape or piping (optional for the details on the pockets and sleeve/back details. I just used strips of the white fleece)
sewing machine

Step 1: Fitting the Jumpsuit

1. I used an old pair of footie pajamas to get a basic shape down. Since this is lounge wear, I wanted it to be pretty loose. You need to cut two pieces on the fold. To get the right length you will need to measure from your collar bone to past your knee to get an approximate size. It's better to err on the size of too big, since it's easier to resize it smaller.

2. Once you've cut out the basic shape for the jumpsuit, pin the tops of the shoulder seams and try them on. You'll want to keep fitting the jumpsuit on yourself to get your desired fit. Sew up the shoulder seams with the insides facing each other.

3. Sew the back seam part of the way down and try on the jumpsuit again. Pin the legs up to where the crotch of the jumpsuit will be. This is the best time to get the fit right.

Step 2: Sewing Up Everything

1. This is the a basic shape for the sleeve. You may have to adapt it all little to fit your own jumpsuit. When you find the right fit, sew the sleeve seam and pin them into the arm holes with the seam at the bottom of the arm hole.

2. The collar is pretty simple. I made mine pretty wide, but you can make yours thinner. Pin that to the neck so that it will fold over when the garment is right side out.

3. Once you're satisfied with how everything fits, you can start sewing up the rest of the seams. Fit the zipper to the front seam and sew down. Turn the jumpsuit right side out. It is time to start the details! You can cuff the arms and legs if you prefer or leave them long and hem the ends.

Step 3: Details

1. Measure around your waist where you want the white belt to fit and cut a long strip of white fleece. Make it twice as thick so you can fold it over. Fold in half lengthwise and sew the length and one of the ends. Turn the belt right side out. I used a long plastic wand from my cat's toy to push it through!

2. Cut out three rectangles for the pockets. The two leg pockets are a little bigger than the pocket on the chest. To add the white piping on the pockets, you can use piping, bias tape or strips of fleece which is what I used. I pinned the strips onto the front of the pockets and sewed them down, them turned them back over around the edges of the pockets. Fit them onto the legs of the jumpsuit and sew. Do the same with the left chest pocket.

3. Chell's Portal 1 jumpsuit just says "APERTURE" on the right chest, but I decided to put the Aperture Labs logo on instead. If you can find a patch like this online, you can substitute it, but I just used an iron on transfer and some white cotton, since fleece isn't very iron friendly. If you are using iron ons, remember to flip the image so that the text will show up the right way. Sew that onto the right chest.

4. For the back of the jumpsuit, I cut out the individual segments of the Aperture logo out of white flannel using a card stock template of the shape. I carefully pinned and sewed each piece to form the logo. You could also try using fabric paint or silk screening instead.

5. There are a few more little details that you can add or leave off. There is some thin piping that goes across the back and the piping around the arms, as well as the slash pockets in the front and butt pocket.
