Picture of Pouring Root Beer Cupcake
Pour on the fun with this easy to make cupcake creation. It gives the illusion that the root beer is pouring into the glass. Use any canned 8 oz beverage including beer. Change the colors and flavors to match.

1 vanilla cupcake baked in a brown paper liner
 1/2 cup vanilla frosting
1/2 to 3/4 cup of root beer flavored jelly beans (Jelly Belly A&W)
  glass mug
  root beer candy stick
clean, empty 8 oz. can of root beer

Fill the mug 3/4 full with the jelly beans. Top with the cupcake. Pipe the vanilla frosting on top of the cupcake to look like foam. Stick the candy stick into the center of the cupcake. Place the clean, empty soda can on top of the candy stick.

OMG this looks amazing and gives me an idea for hallowe'en. Could you replace the can with a bottle or would it be too top heavy thanks.

All that sugar, all those additives ...

Serve these near the end of a party, just before you send the little darlings home...

It's a cupcake and candy. You could make one using a carrot stick, a bran muffin, and some chickpeas. Maybe a can of V8? :)
Now that would cause kids a fright at a Hallowe'en party!

(Hallowe'en?!?..... what's with the "e'e")
Kiteman splazem3 years ago
It's called "English" - "Hallowe'en" is a contraction of "All Hallow's Eve".
Yes! The correct spelling!
Ha ha! Yeah, us colonials don't speak too gud!

Wow! very cute and unique, I will have to try this one day hopefully I can find a cola candy stick or one that looks like a dew :-) I really hate orange and root beer.

I use Gilliam Candy Sticks. They're sold at Cracker Barrel and online. Here are some of their other flavors.
GREAT!!! Whoo! Hoo! Time for a road trip, I will be getting these and making them this weekend. I will post them on my site when completed. CCMolly, many thanks again for sharing this cute and unique treat.

You're welcome. I'm so happy to hear that you'll be making them! Please post a link!
If you have a Cracker Barrel near you, I'm almost positive that they have a cherry cola flavored stick, which I think would work for cola, and they have lemon-lime ones, which I think would pass for dew, or possibly a lemon flavored one?
Hi Jennifer, I am going to Google to see how close one is to me, I know we have one here in NC just don't know how close it is to me. I'm in Ral. NC...if its not too far I will be going in the next day or two.

That's where I buy mine. They do have a cherry cola. Thank you!

Thank you for the comments and votes! Yes, changing flavors is easy. I've also made a beer one and a Sunkist one.

Could you bake chocolate cake mix inside of a glass??
CupcakeMolly (author)  kaizengirl3 years ago
Yes. You can bake one in an oven safe mug. I used a cupcake because it was easier, and I thought it was fun. You could even use a store-bought cupcake if you're not a baker.
how do you get the cupcake out to eat it? this is a VERY VERY cool and easy looking project, tho, and i would love to do this sometime. cool!
CupcakeMolly (author)  themadjeweler3 years ago
Thanks! I serve it with a long spoon like you would use with a root beer float. You can use it to lift out the cupcake or you could lift the cupcake out by the candy stick.
