Power On Your PC using your Cell Phone

Step 5Final preparations....

Because this circuit will be used to emulate one pressing the PC Power-On button, the relay contacts must be connected in parallel with the existing Power-On button. That's why I made the Y connector, using the old Front Panel connector cables and some jumper pins I had lying around.
I used some plastic box also custom made by me. I added the 12V socket and used an 220v/12v wall adapter. Because I wanted also to charge the phone, I used a 7805 voltage regulator between the 12v line and the phone charger plug.

How to use the circuit? Well: first open your PC case, plug the Y connector in place of the Power-On front panel connector, and on the other end, plug the relay and the old Power-On front panel connector. Connect the phone on it's miniature connector, and 12V wall adapter. Power up the phone, set it on "vibrating alert only" and place it on a firm place. Make a short call to your "hacked" phone and your PC should start like magic.

I've customized my PC to autologon, and to start the remote connection software.
Now you're ready to manage your PC from virtually any place on earth!
