- Klair Complete Probiotic powder mix, I use a complete 12 species type (it costs a lot but lasts a few months).
- 2 Bananas
- Nutritional oil such as Yes Parent Oil Ultimate EFAs is optional, but used in my ice pops
- Silicon candy molds
- Ice pop sticks
- Fork and mixing bowl
- Something to cut the sticks like the medical scissors in the picture.
Step 1: Mash and Mix
Mash up 2 average sized bananas in a bowl with a fork until smooth.
Calculate how much probiotic per day, I use about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon (depending on the label) per ice pop; so 20 x 1/8 tsp = 2 1/2 tsp of probiotic powder for the batch. Mix it into the banana mash.
Next calculate the same with the nutritional oil (Yes Parent Oil in my case); my doc recommends 1/4 to 1/2 tsp a day,
so 20 x 1/4 tsp = 5 tsp for the batch.
Now mix it all together with the fork, I sometimes use a handheld blender to make it extra smooth.
Step 2: Spoon and Sticks
Finally cut up some wooden ice pop sticks to a mini size (I once tried toothpicks, but the kids didn't like the sharp points) and insert the sticks into each mold.
Freeze and enjoy.
This is a good way to use up very ripe bananas.
