This tutorial will show you how to draw the female eye.
You can find more drawing tips at my website.

You can view a Mustang drawing video that I made at step 10! check it out :)

Step 1: Basic Shape

As reference I will use Adriana Lima's eye, because it's a very nice one! Remember to use a detailed and good quality photo as reference.

We start first with drawing the basic shape of the eye. It's very important to get the right shape. You can use a normal pencil for this.

Step 2: Outlines

Let's put in some of the basic lines. It's important to mark the light dot(s) in the pupil/iris. You can also outline some if the black parts that stands out in the reference. I usually use a mechanical pencil for this job.

Step 3: Center of the Eye

Remember to fill in enough lines so you can get the shading right. Then you can start filling the center of the eye with graphite. I used 4b or 5b for the darkest, and HB and 2H for the light parts.

Step 4: Upper Eye

Now we can draw the upper eyelid and outline the lower one (4B or 5b). Draw the corners a bit darker (HB), and we can also add some dark upper eyelashes. Smudge with a blending tool or a Q-tip.

Step 5: Blending

The eye is beginning to look a bit realistic now, and we can use a
q-tip or a blending tool to achieve more light tones around the eye.
DO NOT smudge the light dot in the pupil!!!

Step 6: More Shadows & Details

Draw rest of the eyelashes and blend more shadow in. Now we can decide how realistic we want the drawing to be. Add as many details as you want, do all of them if you have the patience. I have added some of them.

Step 7: Eyebrow

Sketch up the eyebrow, and start filling it in.

Step 8: Almost Finish

Draw the rest of the eyebrow, and add shadow around the eye. Make sure to get the tone/shadow almost right, and then blend it. You can also add some tiny skin details; this will make it look realistic.

Step 9: Finish

And the finished result should look something like this, at least after some practice. Watch my drawing- videos to see different techniques applied in action.

Step 10: :)

this eye looks like ıts worth my whole day wıll try it some day

thanks for teaching Easily to draw human eye. Here is an interesting Human Eye Anatomy II app i found.

The app makes it easy for students to understand the human eye anatomy through 3D animations and simulation of eye structure. here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ajax.EyeReceptors_2

Well done. How about an instructable to draw human's nose? I have difficulty with that.

Awesome!!

Sweet car, how many hours did it take to draw?

It only takes like 10 minutes

Here's my first attempt using a regular ole numbah 2 and smudging it with my finger. And BTW for anyone reading this and thinking "I can barely draw stick people!!" just try it. You will surprise yourself because I certainly did.
Just tried to copy a picture I took of my friend. I didn't get the shape exactly right, nor the shading underneath the eye...
(Constructive criticism welcome)
I think you did and amazing job. The shape is great and sure the shading is a little dark but I always think it is better to be dark than too light because contrast shows depth and definition
.
Thanks!! I realised later that the darkness right above the eye and under the eyebrow on the left was eyelashes but the picture is zoomed and cropped and at a really extreme angle (I found this out by titling my friend's face around).
I'm gonna keep doing the same one until I get an even better result.

Yeah, that's really good! I agree, the shading is a bit dark, but it looks like he just woke up and wants to kill the person who set his alarm! :) Great job!

got mistaken from the intro pic thought it was a real eye
Forgot the image
I tried.

Could you make one for the entire face including hair?
heres one i did last year

wowwww
Adriana Lima's eye is very beautiful and you did good!
TOO CONFUSING!
This is my first attempt, thankyou for the tutorial :)
That is my first attempt to draw an eye. Nice tutorial!
First attempt at a realistic eye. Failed terribly... Can't compare the the image above...
