Introduction: Project 365

About: Hiya. I like macrame, cats, dogs, horror movies, making things, breaking things, cake pops & music. I am home schooled due to chronic illness, so if I don't come on here much that is why.

Want to improve camera skills?
Love photography?

So- Why should I do Project 365?

-Photography Skills- After a year of using your camera everyday you are bound to get better at using your camera, understanding  photography and become more creative when it comes to taking pictures.

-Looking for a new years resolution?

-Imagine looking back and knowing what you did every single day for a whole year! Amazing- right? Who you met, what you did, where you were, what you learnt all in a giant album of your life.

-Are you one of those people that keeps on trying to keep at a project, but always gets distracted? After doing a single project for a year you will become more and more stuck on keeping at one project.

-Conversation starter. I'm a functional mute and have found that its a easy base for anyone who is into photography.

This short tutorial is going to show you how to get into, keep at and enjoy Project 365.

Step 1: Getting Started

All you need is  camera, and tools to be able to upload onto your chosen site.

A camera phone is perfect if you don't have much time or travel a lot. I used my digital camera, and camera phone for the majority of my project.

You can upload it on any site you choose for example Facebook, Flickr or Google+ , anywhere you like! You can also create a private album on these sites- so only friends and family can view the album

Step 2: Keeping at It

Get into a routine. Simple as. Find a space in your average day to be able to upload, transfer and write out the project. Mine normally takes about 6-8 minutes, a little longer if  I used my digital camera and have to upload it  to my computer. The basic skelton of my "diary entry" is this....

(Example:)

Day 333- Friday 18th November 2011

Haven't fell to well today :(
Did a little online shoping early afternoon but spent the rest of the day watching random NCIS repeats on TV.
Love today's pic ^^ so  cuuuttteee <3

Step 3: My Personal Experience

^^^^^^^^^ Here are some examples of the kind of photos I have taken~

I'm not going to lie, It has been hard at times- and i have been close to quiting. But I am so glad that i kept at it- It is so worth it.
It is really wonderful looking back and being able to know what I have done every single day for a whole year!

If its late, and i still don't have a photo for that day- I always take a picture of my pets. Cute, Always a part of your day and always willing to have their photo taken!

I tend to use my camera phone for 60% of the time, as it is just SO much quicker, But i still use my digital camera a lot of the time.

I think this would be a really cool project to do in pairs, either with a friend, partner or member of family - Keeping each other going and giving each other ideas is really fun- and you learn more sharing ideas, tips & advice.

Step 4: Tips & Advice

1) Add a reminder onto your phone so you don't forget!
2) Make sure you take your camera everywhere with you.
3) Once you have finished, why not print out the pictures, and make a photo album or upload onto a digital photo frame?
4) If it is late and you still do not have a photo, Pets or food always do as a last minute photo!
5) Don't stress about it. It's just a project, miss a day? so what? It's supposed to be fun- not stressful!

- Remember, You can start Project 365 at any time of the year, Not just at the official New Year!

Good luck, Let me know if you try it out!
