Introduction: Ps2 Password Reset

Whether you want to watch a "not-recommended for younger audiences" movie and just can't remember your own password, or you've bought a used PS2 that the owner didn't supply the password for - there will probably come a time when you'll have to reset the password on your PS2. Fortunately - this is very easy to do, and can be done in a matter of seconds.

Step 1: Step 1

1. Turn the PS2 on.
2. Insert your DVD/Game.
3. When prompted to input your password, select '7444'.
4. The password will have been deleted, and you'll need to set up a new one.

Step 2: Tips and Warnings

Tips

  • Chances are, your password is 1111 - try that first before bothering to mess with this technique
  • When you do reset the password, choose something you will remember - the best choice for people who don't actually want the parental control is 1111, as it's the one most people pick.

Warnings

  • If you're doing this because you want to watch a movie / play a game your parents don't want you to - be sure to do this when they aren't around. You'll probably get in trouble!
  • If you are doing this to bypass your parents parental controls be advised they will find out the next time they try to enter the password they set!

Thank you!

This project looks awesome but there isn't enough documentation of you actually making it to be a full Instructable. There are two things which you could do. 1) If you happen to have images of you making your project you can create some more steps, add those additional photos into your Instructable and then republish your Instructable. 2) If you don't have any more pictures of you working on your project, that's ok too. That just means that your project is better suited to be submitted as a slideshow. Your images are already in your library, and you can use the same text that you have already written for your Instructable so it should only take a few minutes to create your slideshow and show the world what you made! Thanks for your submission and let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Hey, this is a great instructable and is very informative. Just one thing is missing... pictures! It really helps a lot when trying to follow directions so you should consider taking some photographs. Once you do that and leave me a message when you have so that we can publish your work. Thanks! Thanks for the cool instructable and we hope to publish this soon!

You have to press the SELECT button before entering in 7444.  You should probably make that a little more clear in your instructable.  Taking screenshots or pictures of the process would also help this instructable.  Doing these would make your instructable more helpful to others.
