Hello to all the people of Instructables.com. Today at 6:53PM I will be posting my 'almost done' Knex Kar-98 rifle. In case you dont know much about the Kar-98 I got some information from wikipedia.com: Although supplemented by semi- and fully automatic rifles during World War II, it remained the primary German service rifle until the end of World War II in 1945. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karabiner_98k I was stunned by Ajleece'sKar-98 that it inspired me to build my own personal Kar-98 rifle. So, to all of the people that love World War II weapons. This is a perfect gun to look at. This gun can peel the plastic of from a blue rod when flung out of the barrel (Sarcasm).
Advantages and Disadvantages:
Receives around 60FT with two 64' rubber bands.
Comfortable in hands.
Circle bed sights.
Doesn't flex.
True trigger.
Full stock.
Six layers thick.
Loading chamber.
Wont snap your thumb.
Its 39" long
Always fires straight.
Uses a bunch of rubber-bands.
Single shot.
Rather big and heavy for youngsters.
This makes a perfect primary gun during a Knex fight. It fires very fast and far. Please remember to rate, then comment.
If your interested in looking at Ajleece's Kar-98 there's a link right here: http://www.instructables.com/id/KNex_Kar_98_Model/
This is also my favorite World War weapon; Thats why I built one.
INFORMATION WITH BOLT:
Because of the bolt now onto the gun, it reduces the range. With two 64' rubber-bands it now receives 40FT. With this said It can still get 60FT with three bands on. Unfortunately, the bolt is not a true bolt. Like I said I would make a true bolt, it failed. (This is ok because The real Kar-98 has a bolt on the right side of the weapon. So I added one anyway).
The pictures of the updates are the last couple of pictures.
