Quick and Cheap Steampunk Spectacles

Quick and Cheap Steampunk Spectacles
I made these spectacles (not glasses, since there is a lack of glass) so that I could have something fancy looking over my eyes when I act all steampunk. They are pretty simple and took less that half an hour to make, even will the fine tunings to fit, and costs about five dollars if you were to buy the materials new.

MATERIALS
2 sink strainers
2 hose clamps (that fit around the strainers)
1 hanger

TOOLS
Pliers (with wire cutters)
Screwdriver
Sandpaper

Take a strainer and place it in a hose clamp so that when it will be on your face the screw points away from where the other strainer/hose clamp will be and the concave surface shows out. That sentence works best while looking at the second attached photo. Now do that one more time.

These are great. I like the use of the Jubilee Clips for the rims. If you look at steampunk goggles elsewhere, including some seriuosly expensive ones, you will note that many cant be seen through!

Part of me likes this instructable - but it's totally drowned out by the part that hates it. Intentionally or not, you nearly nearly replicated http://www.pinhole-glasses.com/. Your styling is perfect for a simple and effective accessory, but the lack of functionality rubs me the wrong way, sorry.

Functional eyesight aides built like this would have been cooler than heck - and if you decide to try again and go for functionality I would suggest using the sides of an egg-shaped tea strainer. I've played around with one of those and the holes are small enough for the pinhole-effect to act as a lens.

This looks very good, shame the last pic didn't turn out so well.

Why can't people use Voila! without spelling it correctly...? viola

These don't help your vision though, do they? The holes look kinda big, but if you wanted you could make steampunk pinhole glasses which would be really cool imo.
