Instructables
An improvement of the howtoons launch pad for the soda bottle rocket. While it worked in unison with the trigger quite good and was accesible and easy to make, I found that it didn't hold the bottle the best and flopped around quite a bit. Here is my version of the launch pad for "Soda Bottle Rocket".

I didn't include instructions for sawing the pieces, only the measurements. Why would I need instructions for sawing?

I also just figured out that it makes a handy foot rest :) Don't use it for standing on though! It could easily break under that kind of pressure.

MATERIALS ========

Square-ish type piece of wood, can be rectangular, not too rectangular though. I used approx. 6 inches by 9 inches (that's 15cm by 23 cm).

Long rectangle pieces of wood. I used 5 inches by 12 inches (13cm by 31cm). DO NOT make it any shorter than 5 inches (13cm) high. If it is, you might not be able to fit your bike valve and pump head under it.

Screws or nails

TOOLS ========

Drill press or other tool used for making large holes

1 inch drill bit for drill press

Screwdriver or hammer

Step 1: Drill the Hole

Using the drill press or whatever you're using drill a 1 INCH hole. I mean it. 1 inch. Not 1.2 inches. Not 0.9 inches. 1 INCH. If you do this wrong it could totally wreck the launch. Unless you want a ballistic rocket flipping over and flying at the person who's pumping, don't screw this up.
