Introduction: Quilled Jewelry to Match Your Mood!

About: I'm a mom of 4 and I love to craft! Anything and Everything interests me and i love to create in the process of learning.

I fell in love with paper quilling about 5 years ago....and since then i've been gifting people with quilled cards , frames and so on.
Its inexpensive and very beautiful ...all it takes is your time :-)
You could use different colors to suit your clothes and moods....the possibilities are endless!

Step 1: Things You Need

A hand paper shredder or quilling paper
colored paper of your choice ( if you are buying quilling paper then just buy the colors you want)
Glue
ruler with circles
Styrofoam board
scissor
pins
barbeque stick/ tooth pick

Step 2: Basic Shapes

I have given detailed instructions on the photos ...just place your circle ruler on a Styrofoam board and go through the steps. It just takes a little practice to become a pro!
The basic shapes are
Spiral
Tight circle
loose circle
tear drop
marque/ eye
eccentric circle/tear drop / eye.
Once you get this it's just a pinch here and there to get more shapes....it's all in your mind and fingers :-)

Step 3: Tight Circle Stud and Pendant

This is a pretty cool and  strong necklace set....and it's very easy!
Get your jewelry hardware and papers of your choice....also varnish if you want to protect it against water.( which i'm assuming everyone wants to :-))
earrings- 4" + 6"+ 12"+24"  - get various 4 colors  in these lengths...stick it together and make a tight circle.  slowly push through to make a cone. Add white glue. now make a small tight circle with a 5" strip of paper and glue it to the back. let it dry. hot glue the hardware and vanish it. When you add varnish...the colors get darker....so if you need a certain color just remember that.

For the necklace do the same thing....but change the color order and lengths and make different sizes... then stick it together the way you want it. again add the spacer  to the back  and glue. Now to make the ring to pass the string through.. wrap a 6" strip of paper around a barbeque stick (or bigger if you want a bigger hole to pass the string). Glue it to the  spacer.
I just used random lengths...but if you want the same...below are the lengths

necklace-
6+12+24+36
6+12+24+6
6+18+30
3+5+9+18

Step 4: Eccentric Earrings

This is another simple earring...but for this i used colored board as then it would be stronger
make an eccentric circle with the colors of your choice. ( this would look like a peacock feather if you use turquoise green  and blue).
6+9+18 is the total length of this earring
Make the loop for the hooks like in the previous step and you are done...after spray varnishing of course.

Step 5: Medallion

The center is a tight circle with a total length of 12"....you may do this is one color or 2 like i did
the outer tight circles is done with 3.5" strips of paper...you need 8 of this
4" strip for 8 marquises
4" strop for 8 tear drops
i guess for the above ( marquises and teardrops) i used the ruler with a 8mm diameter circle....hope that helps...else you could try and see which measurement is best with the ruler you have
Follow the  pictures to see how to assemble.

Please post pictures if you try to make some....i would love to see it. have fun!
