Step 21 Wireless setup

These are the parts that let me view the camera from my computer.

The laptop is nice since its mobile but I can use any computer that I install the drivers for the video capture adapter to.

The silver box is the receiver that came with the camera. It needs a 12 volt power supply to run which also comes with the camera kit. (not shown)

The black box lets me convert the TV component cables to USB to use with a computer. Its a Sabrent USB Audio Video Capture Adapter that I got from Tiger Direct.

why did you need the black box? was the camera wireless, or did you have to have it wired to something, and how was it powered?

The camera itself is wireless, it runs off a 9v source. It transmits to the silver receiver box which is designed to plug into a TV to display the video. Most laptops don't have the RCA connectors that a TV has, so I needed the black box to convert the RCA input to USB.

could you actully hook the camera up to the tv cause it would make it alot cheaper for me

I'm sorry I forgot to include that information, I will be sure to update it. I got it from Tiger Direct. Its a Sabrent A/V Capture.

Same brand but different function, where that is getting you some HD tv for free? Mine just lets you hook up a composite cable camera to a computer via usb
