(ANNOUNCEMENT: Answering the public concern about the Atari joysticks, I declare the controls were damaged, broken and without any possible reparation, so I gift them a second life. So relax everyone! No living Atari joystick was killed in the process.)

Ready for another plastic junk idea? IT'S ROB ZOMBIE'S TIME!!!!

We will transform an old diskettes box, an older Atari Joystick and other plastic stuff into an ugly creepy zombie-style decorative figure. Its horrified eyes glow with yellow light, and its heart changes of light color, as heartbeats... And it's easy to build!! And if you get enough stuff, you can build your Rob Zombie Army!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Well, as the Great Tallahassee says: "Time to nut up, or shut up!", and lets enjoy this little thing!!!

Congrats, really nice robot, I was thinking of doing something similar but instead of a joystick I am using 6 floppy disks to form a cube and a couple of plastic belts to make it look like a Wall E, great work , saludos
M.C. Langer (author) in reply to denniszelMay 13, 2010. 4:22 PM
Thanks Dennis! And WOW!! floppy disks are an awesome idea. I made a Wall-E-like toy, using an electric regulator case and deodorant caps:

Nice!!!!!

I don't have these parts what should I do? could you sell the parts for me as a package?
M.C. Langer (author) in reply to ims geekMay 14, 2010. 12:21 PM
Thanks Ims!! Well, We have a problem: you're in Arabia and I am in Colombia, so the shipping will cost much more than the parts. You can find the parts in flea markets. What do you think?
apple-o says: May 14, 2010. 7:37 AM
These are so cute - but being an Atari junkie, I would not waste an Atari 2600 joystick like that! They are great game controllers! So maybe find a different body , or better yet, keep the joystick connected (maybe store the cord in the robot's body or butt?) so you can still play games with it...
M.C. Langer (author) in reply to apple-oMay 14, 2010. 7:40 AM
Thanks Apple-O. The Atari Joysticks were damaged, broken and without any possible reparation, so I gift them a second life. So relax everyone! No living joysticks was killing in the process.

M.C. Langer (author) in reply to technoguy94May 13, 2010. 6:37 PM
Yes, but I preffer placing the switch between its legs. Rob Zombie is a boy. LOL!

people have debated for a long time about the differences between a zombie robot and a Robot Zombie.

in my opinion, a "zombie robot" is a robot or machine that was built at some point, then was partially destroyed or de-activated, and subsequently returned "back to life" in a way a zombie human would, maybe with few of its original functions intact.

a "robot zombie" would be a robot built specifically to look and behave like a zombie, like an animatronic figure.

these are very important issues for a very important time we live in!
noapparentfunction in reply to noapparentfunctionMay 13, 2010. 2:50 PM
to be clear, our author is using the correct nomenclature, and i applaud that.
M.C. Langer (author) in reply to noapparentfunctionMay 13, 2010. 4:16 PM
Thank you very much, Noapparentfunction. In this hard time, we can't trust in any robot trying to convince us that is a zombie!
