Introduction: RUSTIC LAMP

hi, I made a lamp that has a real'y cool feature.

It is late night, and your cellphone rings. You can't see where it is, you blindly grope around your nightstand, trying in vain to find that illusive switch that will illuminate your side of the bed. You clumsily turn on the lamp, locate your cellphone...and you miss the call.  Instead of reaching
up into the shade trying to find that switch, you can just flip the lamp
on with ease. there is a wall switch instead. I made the base out of a
basswood tree. we put (poured) about
three coats of normal polyurethane on the base. that makes it realy shiny.
I got all the parts at a "Menards". Here is a list of the parts:

PARTS LIST:

- 6x1/2 in nipple
- 5x1/2 in nipple
- lamp shade
- light bulb base (without switch)
- 8 in harp
- metal flange
- wall light switch
- wire
- lamp  cap (the cap that holds the shade on the lamp)
- adapter from 1/2 in to 1/4 in (to mount the bulb to nipple)
- metal junction box
- 4 nuts to hold the metal box
- polyurathane

this is a normal wall switch

this is a peice of barn wood.
I poured dark polyurathane on it 
three times until glossy.
