Introduction: Radius Sanding Block for Guitar, Easy&cheap

I wanted to make my first cigar-box guitar with curved keyboard. I had not the RSB and purchase it was expensive and I would have to wait a few days to have it. So I decided to build one with the materials available to me ... and it works.

YouTube has helped me a lot but the projects I've seen nedeed different wood and tools that I had not.
I searched within Instructables RSB but found nothing.

So here's the plan.

English is not my language so sorry for any linguistic errors.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

Legno compensato da 4 mm

Seghetto da legno, cutter, carta vetro, cartoncino rigido, colla da legno, biadesivo

Plywood 4 mm thickness

Saw, cutter, sandpaper, rigid cardboard, wood glue, double-sided tape

Step 2: Choose the Radius

Prima bisogna scegliere il raggio di curvatura.

Chitarra classica - 0 cm

Fender Stratocaster Vintage - 7,25" - 18,4 cm ~

Fender Statocaster Modern - 9,5" - 24 cm ~

Gibson - 10-12" - 25-30 cm ~

First, you choose the radius of curvature.

Fender Stratocaster Vintage - 7,25" - 18,4 cm ~
Fender Statocaster Modern - 9,5" - 24 cm ~

Gibson - 10-12" - 25-30 cm ~

The maximum width of a keyboard at the end is about 6 cm

Step 3: Cardboard Template

Guarda i disegni.

Watch the pictures.

Step 4: Cut Plywood

Tagliare come nei disegni.

Cut as in the drawings

Step 5: Glue the Pieces

Glue before the sides. Glue the Radius pieces.

Glue the top. (I softened the wood into boiling water for 20 min before glue it)

Step 6: Attacks the Double-sided Adhesive and Sandpaper

Finito. Buone chitarre.

Attacks the double-sided adhesive on the top and then the sandpaper. Finished. Good guitars.

Step 7: My Cigar Box Guitar With Rounded Fretboard

Buona musica.

Thanks for following me. I hope that this project is useful. I love musical instruments. This is my last guitar cigar box guitar with bended keyboard.

Good music.

Step 8: My Cigar Box Guitar Before Round Fretboard.

My old guitars box with flat keyboards.

instructables perhaps needs a new category: musical instruments.
