So I've seen some homemade hookah's on here recently and honestly I made my own ages ago and just thought I would share my design. I hate having to use plastic for a smoking apparatus, but glass is a pain in the butt to work with, drilling is just annoying. So I bought a vacuum flask from a chemistry supply store for around $10. everything else I already had, but I doubt any of them would be hard to find.

Materials:
-Vacuum flask (mine is 500ml), you could use larger, but I was going more for a small personal device. Chemistry supply prices will vary.
-Cork, this one is from a Large Patron tequila bottle, the 1.75 liter size. I didnt buy the bottle, I found an empty in a bar's dumpster.
-aluminum or steel tube (~$2.50), as long as you want it, diameter all depends on the hookah bowl. Drill a hole through the cork, appropriate size depends on tube
-hookah bowls ($5-$10) can be found online easily, however there are numerous smoke shops that sell them
-rubber stopper (~ $0.75) , if you can find one with a hole already then thats perfect, otherwise ACE harware sells a variety of sizes, choose yours and drill a hole so the tube fits snugly.
-Tubing, I think this is 1/4 inch, length is up to you.

All parts can easily be made to fit snugly, the cork was just a tad shy of airtight, so I wrapped teflon tape around it. the connections were all sealed with JB weld. I prefer JB for all my work beacuse it has a high heat tolerance and I know its the toughest stuff. I also Laquered the cork. just to give it some more resistence. You will also see a decorative piece of steel near the neck. Dont do that, It holds too much heat, if you wish it to be more decorative, you could put a nice metal tip on the hose. Also, its kinda obvious that the whole thing is a little wonkey, after the cork was drilled I noticed it, Just drilled the stopper at the opposite angle and the bowl sits straight. I dont mind the slant, gives it character. My Buddy Jon named it the willy wonkah (wonky + hookah). whatever, it works.

Notes on Hookah use, I would say that this is an 18+ instructable, but if you are younger then that you couldnt buy sheesha (tobacco) for it anyways, but regardless smoking is not healthy, try at your own risk, etc. Some will argue the health risks of using tin foil vs. the steel screens, but as I am already smoking, clearly healthyness is not my first priority. Do as you will.
