Really loud DIY iPod Touch Dock with speakers

 My home made ipod dock from an old 2.1 speakers system.

First off all, i want to apologize for my bad english, but i hope you will understand me.

requirements:
Ipod
ipod dock adapter (it came in package with ipod)
ipod audio-video cable
speakers (winth integrated amp)
a few tools, little knowlage about electronic

Hello, this looks great. i would like to use the same ipod connection you created. i have 2 jbl floor speakers (10" woofers , 4.5' midranges , 1" tweets, 175 watts, 8 ohms.) would my ipod be compatable with these speakers? i would like to keep the speakers intacted, basically add the ipod connection.

Hi, my boss just gave me a brand new set of speakers for free (YAY) but I only have about a $20 budget to make/buy an amp. Obviously I can't get an amp with enough power for $20 in this day and age. The speakers have a combined output of 200 watts. Could I (theoretically) build all this and make it 200 watts while staying within my budget?? I have MOST of the wires, circuitry, tools etc. because my father has 5 old computers, builds robots, and is generally very handy (mechanical engineer). Any help would be VERY much appreciated, as I am currently running on a measly 27 watts :'(

I have used NXT flat panel speakers without an amp for listening to music at night in bed. i tried using head phones not enough volume there even seting the headhones on your head . then you can toss n turn without having to constantly beaware of the head phones. I then tried the behind the neck style head phones again whowants be on their back all night sleeping in one position. i had battery operated amp plus nxt flat panel speaker it had pretty good sound amplification but a drain on batteries was constant cant expect them to last if left on while you fell asleep. now a solar battery charger and battery operated amp plus nxt flat panel speaker would be ideal dock. i noticed at secondhand stores they have small amps like trhis often for few dollars.

I dont know if this question is silly because i have a PC Desktop speaker which needs a input of 220v so can i power it by 9v. will it work.

dog digger, with all respect, but you're maybe not totally right. I don't think the circuit of the amplifier works on 220 volts. If you screw open the speaker box with the controls in it, you will maybe see a thing where the 220 volts wall socket wire goes in. You have to read what's on that thing. Maybe it tells you it outputs 9 volts of DC power, which means you can actually replace the wall socket wire and that transformator with a 9 volt battery! I don't know if this works with every pair of speakers, but my speakers do have such a thing ;)

Even then, most cheap speaker systems just run into a transformer and then the the circuit without any rectification. It might work. Just look at the output of the transformer and sometimes, depending on the system, it might work on a DC supply. You need to look inside the unit and check. No system that I've seen directly runs on 220v. I've seen 35v rails as the most common. The real answer is, who knows?

Sorry if this question seems silly, but what about the "Apple Connection Chip" that the iPhone / touch requires for output through the dock cable?

apple connector chip only detects if connected accessories is apple-authorized. that doesn't have to do nothing with audio out.

in step 5 on 4th photo, there are 2 female RCA connectors, those are soldered to the amp's audio input (originally 3.5mm female jack).
