If you won't make it rechargable and you will use common batteries just use a normal on/off switch.

You can also attach the charger wire directly to the positive battery terminal to allow you to use the amp while it is being recharged. However, it's a good idea to use a blocking diode in there to stop the battery discharging through the charger when the charger is switched off. The diode needs to be orientated correctly. If you use a cheap 1N4001, then the line end needs to be attached to the battery, the other end to the charger.
The dotted line means that de two switches are connected toghether.
