Introduction: Red Astronomy Light

This a red lgiht for astronomy. It is made from a Mini Maglite and a red bottle top. You can use most any red plastic. Also you can put the clear plastic piece back in for normal use. The reason for making this is because red light does not hurt your night vision like normal light does.

if plastic is too thick and light too dark you can make it thinner using some fine grit sandpapert

That is a good idea. you can also use plastic from a tupperware container. I made my flashlight very dim. This is because about all I use it for is reading numbers on my zoom lense.
